- Select your organization type
- Create your organization profile
- Enter your payment information (Pro Member accounts only)
- Create your first volunteer opportunity
Create your administrator profile
The first step to registering your organization is creating your administrator profile. You'll use the email and password you enter here to log into VolunteerMatch.org. You will need to verify your email before you can move on to the next step.
If you already have an account for yourself, you will not need to create a new one. Just log into your account, then click here
We know you might not be the only one recruiting volunteers at your organization, so we let you add as many of your colleagues to the account as necessary. Each admin has their own individual account and login credentials, which they can use to connect to the organization's profile. For more information on managing your organization's admins, click here.
Select your organization member type (Pro vs. Standard)
Once you've created your personal account and verified your email, you'll be asked to select your account type (Pro Member or Standard Member). While you'll still be able to post opportunities and recruit volunteers with a Standard membership, Pro membership allows you to take full advantage of all VolunteerMatch has to offer you!
As a nonprofit, VolunteerMatch relies upon Pro Member support to provide our community with quality volunteer recruitment and management services. When you become a Pro Member, you'll help us continue our mission of connecting good people with good causes.
Select your organization type
Next, you'll want to select your organization type (e.g., 501(c) nonprofit, hospice or public school) and fill out the requested information.
Want to know if your organization qualifies for an account on VolunteerMatch? Learn more here.
If you're registering as a 501(c) nonprofit and our system doesn't recognize your EIN, click here to learn how to proceed with your registration.
Create your organization profile
The next step is to create your organization's profile. The information you provide here will give potential volunteers more information about your organization and the type of work you do. Volunteers often want to know more about the cause they're supporting, so we recommend being as thorough as possible when filling this out!
You can also give a face to your organization by uploading a profile picture or logo (images 150 pixels by 150 pixels work best) and linking to your website or social media channels.
Enter your payment information (Pro Member accounts only)
If you selected that you'd like to become a Pro Member, you'll be asked to select your payment plan (Monthly vs. Annual) and enter your payment information at this point in time.
Please note, we can only accept payments via credit card at this point in time.
Click here for more information on our renewal and cancellation policies.
Create your first volunteer opportunity
Finally, you'll create your first volunteer opportunity! Once your organization is approved, your opportunity will be posted to the site and visible to the 35,000+ volunteers who visit VolunteerMatch every day!
Your organization will receive an email whenever a new volunteer expresses interest in your opportunity.
Questions while filling out the form? Not to worry! Select the Help icon () at any step to learn more about a particular section or feature, or select from the topics below:
- Choosing your opportunity title & contact
- Specifying your opportunity location
- Setting a date & time for your opportunity

If your organization isn't automatically approved, you should hear back from us within 2-3 business days. If your profile is still pending approval after this time period, please be sure to check the inbox of the email address you used to register as we may have requested additional documentation.
